Mad Weekend

I had the pleasure of seeing Geoffrey Rush at Belvior Street Theatre on Saturday night, in his performance as a poor (and completely insane) 19th Century clerk in St Petersberg. The majority of the play was funny, actually hilarious at times but ended with a very dark and disturbing portrait of a man who had fallen into the deepest pit of madness - the transformation on the stage is brilliant.

This is the second time I have seen Mr Rush at Belvior St and it was a joy on both occassions. He is just incredible. I've been hanging out for this show (Diary of a Madman) all year and it was worth the wait. All together, a great evening.

The day was also pleasant; we went out for breakfast at a french bistro near our house, and then went to one open house in Forrestville - I think this is the most likely location of our future family home. We'll most likely buy something early next year.

Yesterday we went rockclimbing and then to Bondi Beach - another pleasant day :) its a welcome change from spending endless weekends in home mega malls and furniture stores. Yuck.

In other news, I bought one of those ereaders the other day and have already downloaded a tonne of books onto it (all for free of course.. mwhahaha!!) so I am all geared up for long flights and hours spent waiting at airport gates. Yay! The reader I bought was the sony touch, which I just LOVE. I got used to the page turning very quickly and actually prefer it to holding bulky books while I read. If anyone wants to recommend a good book to upload to my reader, please feel free ;)

This week will hopefully just fly past... This coming weekend I am planning to do a lot of pre-holiday shopping, for all sorts of bits of stuff I might need - thermal socks, clothing, adapters, toiletries etc etc.. I can't believe we are leaving so soon. Only 11 days to go!!! I found this awesome virtual tour on the official Zermatt tourism site which shows the mountains and the village... it has gotten me super excited all over again! Here's a few screen shots;

I'm also looking forward to touring around Israel with our friends. I haven't seen all that much of Israel, because we usually only go to see family, but we have 9 days there this time; plenty of time to see everything!

Well thats all for now folks... back to work!
